NCRD – EXPLORE AND LEARN
Almost four decades of war in the region led to radicalized thought and behavior of some segments of society in the North-West, Pukhtun dominant areas of Pakistan. The area was used for strategic purposes and the militant assets created for achieving of foreign policy objectives, later on aimed at larger control of the area and organized in the shape of different militant groups. The military operations in the area, though wiped out the existence of militants but these operations left a great vacuum in the shape of destroyed infrastructure, restriction of access to social services, free speech and free movement.
The era is in demand of a large scale scholarly response to document the events, trace out its history [causes] and ponder upon to suggest ways and means for resolving the issues/ challenges faced by the general public. NCRD finds its existence due to the grave need and urgency for an organized academic and research work on local, national and regional, peace, conflict and governance issues.
NCRD aims at establishing a venue for free and open debate on different issues of Governance, Social Transformation, Peace-Building, Human Rights, Gender mainstreaming, Youth Engagement and Community Development.
