HEALTH – EVERY LIFE MATTERS
Our health intervention is mainly based on the need for providing affordable healthcare services at the door-step of far flung rural communities. A large number of pregnant women die while accessing healthcare services in those areas. NKF choses its locations where the health indicators are very low like child survival rate, infant and maternal mortality, life expectancy etc. People carry the expectant mothers on shoulders to reach to a hospital. The terrain is so hilly with no regular transportation and rough roads. NKF strives to build the capacity of local communities in healthcare delivery through training health service providers and establishing health facilities at community level. Our initiatives are helping people and saving lives of the marginalized and underprivileged communities especially in areas where there are either no or not enough government hospitals.
